A Regional Seminar for parliaments of the Twelve Plus Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union on Human Trafficking, organized by the IPU and hosted by the British Group of the IPU, will be held in London on 22 and 23 February 2010. It will take place at the Attlee Suite, Portcullis House, in the Palace of Westminster.

Human trafficking is a very real problem in the Twelve Plus countries. Parliamentarians have a joint responsibility to raise awareness of this practice and put a stop to the misery suffered by thousands of people each year. The seminar will provide MPs with an opportunity not so much to discuss laws outlawing trafficking, but to highlight how parliamentarians should become more involved in ensuring the implementation of existing legislation.
