Tenth Meeting of Women Speakers of Parliament INNOVATING FOR GENDER EQUALITY Making development, peace and democracy a reality for women and men United Nations Headquarters, New York, 29-30 August 2015 Organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union

	The Tenth Meeting of Women Speakers of Parliament, organized by the IPU, will be held at in Conference Room 4 (CR 4) at United Nations Headquarters in New York on 29 and 30 August 2015. It will be followed by the Fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, due to take place from 31 August to 2 September. The meeting will identify new and concrete strategies to speed up the process of achieving gender equality, 20 years after the adoption of the Beijing Platform for Action. By so doing it will also identify ways to ensure implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to make societies more democratic and peaceful. To mark this tenth anniversary, the women Speakers of Parliament will also look back at the outcomes of previous sessions and progress made so far. These meetings aim to provide women in the highest decision-making positions of parliament with a regular forum to exchange ideas and experiences on gender issues which are of interest to their national and international agendas. IMPORTANT NOTE: The meeting will now be held in Conference Room 4
