The seminar, organized by the SADC Parliamentary Forum's Leadership Centre and the Inter-Parliamentary Union with the support of the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces and the Institute for Security Studies, targeted members and staff of defence and security committees of the parliaments of SADC Member States and of the parliaments of Burundi and Rwanda. The seminar provided participants with a useful opportunity to share experiences and to formulate recommendations to strengthen parliamentary oversight in the field of the security sector.
