    THE ROLE OF MEDIA AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
    IN INCREASING THE NUMBER AND EFFECTIVENESS OF WOMEN IN POLITICS
Amman (Jordan), 27–28 October 2009

The iKNOW Politics Partners (IPU, IDEA, NDI, UNDP and UNIFEM) are convening a regional conference in the Arab region to launch and promote a new tool for women in politics - the Arabic version of the iKNOW Politics website.

The Conference will be held in Jordan from 27-28 October on The role of Media and Information Technology in increasing the number and effectiveness of women in Politics. Around 100 women politicians, researchers and advocates from Arab countries, as well as international experts, are expected to take part. Please use the iKNOW Politics website to register for the Conference.

iKNOW Politics is the product of a partnership between five organizations. The project seeks to increase the participation and effectiveness of women in political life by providing a web platform to access resources and expertise, stimulate dialogue, create knowledge and share experiences on women’s political participation.
