World Summit on Food Security
Organized by the Italian Parliament in cooperation with the Inter-Parliamentary Union

The Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) held a World Summit on Food Security in Rome from 16 to 18 November 2009. On the occasion of the Summit, the Italian Parliament and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, with the support of the FAO, organized a parliamentary meeting entitled "Parliaments addressing agriculture, hunger and food insecurity in times of global crisis".

Italian Chamber of DeputiesThe Parliamentary Meeting on the occasion of the World Summit on Food Security took place on Friday, 13 November 2009, on the premises of the Italian Chamber of Deputies. The meeting was organized for those members of parliament who are part of their national delegation to the Summit.

Important notice: The IPU and the Italian Parliament are not in a position to facilitate accreditation to the World Summit on Food Security, provide Schengen visa support for entry into Italy or hotel accommodation in Rome. These matters should be dealt with by each delegation individually, as part of the overall accreditation procedure to the Summit.
