INTERNATIONAL PARLIAMENTARY CONFERENCE
"PARLIAMENTS AND THE RIGHTS OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES"

Organized jointly by the Plurinational Legislative Assembly of Bolivia and the Inter-Parliamentary Union
7 - 9 April 2014, Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia)

 

Bolivian Senate The Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Plurinational Legislative Assembly of Bolivia will jointly hold an International Parliamentary Conference from 7 to 9 April 2014, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. Their aim is to elicit a contribution from parliaments to the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples, to be held from 21 to 22 September 2014, in New York.

The objective of the Parliamentary Conference is for participants to exchange information about the experiences, good practices and challenges encountered by parliaments in their efforts to guarantee the political representation of indigenous peoples and the effective protection of their rights.

The venue for the Parliamentary Conference will be the Hotel Los Tajibos Convention Centre.
