The purpose of the Bamako workshop is twofold: strengthen parliament’s capacity to address security questions in an efficient way with a view to enhancing the parliamentary contribution to governance of the security sector at the national level; and promote parliamentary cooperation at the regional level in order to achieve greater harmonization.
