The Committee consists of 13 deputies: eight belong to the political majority and five come from the opposition. Its membership reflects the political configuration of the lower house based on the last elections and the results of negotiations between leaders of the different parliamentary groups. Appointments to the Committee are made by the parliamentary groups according to the powers granted to the members of parliament. The Committee's term of office is the same as that of the legislature: four years. Committee members may be dismissed and replaced by another member of the same group (proposed by the parliamentary group).
