The Commission collaborates with national and international, governmental or non-governmental bodies dealing with human rights issues, in order to extend knowledge on this issue. |
| Subjects dealt with |
Topical issues that have been raised in recent practice are: Human rights violations committed by the police in San Salvador Atenco, discrimination against children affected by HIV/AIDS, condition of detainees in prisons, human rights of migrants, human rights of homosexuals and transsexuals, gender equality, protection of children's rights, torture, human trafficking. The Commission is now discussing on a number of proposals concerning: the establishment of a forum on public security and human rights; a forum on the rights of persons with disabilities; awareness raising and capacity building on human rights. |
