Mandate The Committee examines the human rights situation, nationally and internationally.
Membership Fourteen members. The Committee is set up every year at the beginning of the ordinary session held in February. The duration of the mandate is one year, renewable.
Working methods The Committee works on its own initiative following its appointment by the Bureau of the National Assembly. Its members are responsible for their work and are not constrained.
Relations with other parliamentary bodies The Committee submits its reports to the Bureau of the National Assembly and provides the other committees and all interested persons with copies.
Relations with external bodies Relationships of collaboration
Subjects dealt with Investigations are being conducted into the situation of prisoners, the massacres that have taken place in the country, and other issues.
